Goodbye House… long may you run

May 4, 2015 | personal

Our beautiful welsh house is up for sale … I can’t even begin to tell you how sad this makes me

Every single May bank holiday for the last 17 years we have rolled up…our tribe… Our whole family in one special magical place for a whole weekend…

our beautiful  beautiful tradition

flying kites… beach bonfires… sunsets… seals… the endless dolphin watch… rave music… afternoon naps… sunbathing… obstacle courses… Archie fainting when Larry finally caught him… beach walks… the bench… the bluebells…crab lining… The clock stuck on drinking time… the chilli incident… frittles… table drumming…the Division bell… I have my dignity…golf club in the sea… dog fish… seaweed monsters…”The Band”… no tin foil till Phwllheli … marshmallows … the window incident ( we didn’t break it !! )… Archie bin head… chewed teddies… the ghost… harmonicas… Jess the dog… Neil Young… pebbles on the table… cider at two… the stupid cooker… the path to the beach… Jessie’s duck impression… big breakfasts… magazines… £1’s for the meter  “long may you run”

Two of my babies weren’t even born when we first started going… its all they have ever known… and now our babies babies join us… and now its gone

” Goodbye House… thanks for all the memories ” Jane said as we were leaving… all I want to do is cry

Aaaah… I LOVE these… so sad, I know how much it means to you. Clearly you all need to chip in and buy the thing! If not you’ll just have to find another house and make that the home from home for the next generation… xxxx
